John A. Agarry — Director of Global Operations, TransCareers International

From Nigeria to the Philippines
to the Silicon Valley

John A. Agarry's career spans three continents, two decades, and one consistent mission: building systems that give people — especially young people — a fair chance to grow.

Born and educated in Nigeria, John began his professional career at First Atlantic Bank, (now First City Monument Bank) where he developed a foundational belief that would guide everything that followed: integrity over short-term gain, and people over metrics. When a manager pressured him to push a financial product that wasn't right for a client, he declined. It cost him the deal. It defined his character.

From banking, John moved into engineering and operations at Chioma Productions Ltd, a Nigerian oil services company serving Shell Production Development Company. There he learned to manage field operations, enforce compliance, and lead teams under pressure — skills he would carry across the world.

In 2004, he joined NetXpat Technologies as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing company-wide operations and implementing the productivity systems that would become his operational signature. Then came the move that changed everything.

John moved to the Philippines — and stayed for 19 years.

"I didn't plan to stay 19 years. But I built something there — and I watched a broken system fail 500,000 students every year. So I decided to fix it." — John A. Agarry

19 Years. 5 Regions.
500+ Students Placed.

As International Consultant and later Senior Operations Director at School Solutions and Youth Exchange International Inc. (SSAYEI), John spent nearly two decades building the recruitment infrastructure that connected Filipino students and professionals with international opportunity.

He managed operations across five regions of the Philippines — Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, Metro Manila, and the Cordillera Administrative Region — personally recruiting and placing over 500 Filipino students and professionals into US J-1 Internship and Trainee programs.

He built university relationships. He managed $5M+ in program budgets with 98% on-time delivery. He coordinated with CHED-accredited institutions, US host employers, consulate officials, and immigration attorneys across both countries.

And every year, he watched those same students carry paper logbooks to their internship sites. He watched coordinators approve hours by SMS. He watched universities compile CHED compliance reports by hand — in 2022, in 2023, in 2024.

No digital platform. No AI tools. No system. Just paper.

That observation became OJT Hub.

Building OJT Hub —
A TransCareers International Initiative

Under his role at TransCareers International, John developed and deployed OJT Hub — the Philippines' first AI-powered OJT management platform. Live at philippineinternships.com, available on Android, built for 500,000+ Filipino students completing mandatory On-the-Job Training every year.

OJT Hub digitizes the entire OJT lifecycle — from student logbook entry to employer verification, coordinator approval, university compliance reporting, and CHED submission. It replaces a system that has run on paper since the program's inception with a modern, AI-powered platform built specifically for the Philippine context.

What Drives
Every Decision

01
People First, Always
Every system John builds starts with one question: does this make life better for the person using it? OJT Hub is free for students — always. Because the people it serves most shouldn't be the ones paying for it.
02
Integrity Over Shortcuts
From declining a bad bank product in 2001 to navigating complex immigration compliance in 2024, John has consistently chosen the right path over the fast path. Systems that last are built on solid foundations.
03
Operational Excellence
22 years managing multi-country operations, $5M+ budgets, and 98% on-time delivery across diverse cultural and regulatory environments. Precision is not optional — it is the job.
04
First-Hand Knowledge
John didn't read about the Philippine OJT problem in a market research report. He lived in it for 19 years. He recruited the students. He watched the broken system. That direct knowledge is OJT Hub's deepest competitive advantage.
